Trek Transfers BCycle Bike-Sharing Service to BTS
Trek Bicycle Corporation has officially announced the transfer of its popular BCycle bike-sharing service to Bicycle Transit Systems(BTS)for operations.BTS is a well-regarded
bike-sharing system operator in major cities such as Los Angeles,Philadelphia,and Las Vegas,and the acquisition is expected to be completed next month.
BTS Expands Bike-Sharing Support to 24 U.S. Cities
In addition to operating systems in major cities,BTS also provides customer service centers for an additional 24 cities across the U.S.Notably,Trek’s connection with BTS dates back to 2016,when Trek made a strategic investment in BTS,laying a solid foundation for their close collaboration.
BTS to Manage Over 10 BCycle Systems and Expand to 15 New Communities
As the transaction progresses,BTS will take over the management of over 10 bike-sharing systems currently operated by BCycle,covering areas such as Santa Barbara and Santa Cruz in California,Madison in Wisconsin,and Boulder in Colorado.Furthermore,BTS plans to expand its service area,offering bike rentals,docking station placements,and technical support to 15 additional communities,including Indianapolis,Salt Lake City,Cincinnati,and Milwaukee.
BTS Founder Highlights Benefits of Acquisition for Cyclist Experience

As part of this transaction,BCycle’s current executive director,Brian Conger,will join BTS's senior management team as Chief Business Officer.
